Adopt the “CLEAN GIRL” look
With stars such as Hailey Bieber and Gigi Hadid, Rosie Huntington or Sophia Dorena as implicit spokespersons, the #cleangirl trend has recently taken the entire web by storm.
You've probably seen her take control of your feed little by little! She loves neutral colors, slicked back hair and quality basics, drinks matcha lattes and does yoga or Pilates every day.
But who is she, and what can you learn from her look?
We reveal all the secrets of the "Clean Girl" to make her look your own!
Who is the “Clean Girl”?
Often described as the 'off-duty' model look, the idea of this style is based on an understated and, as the name suggests, 'clean girl' appearance!
She's the girl who is always well dressed, with – what would seem to be – as little effort as possible.
Her skin is fresh and radiant, her cheeks are delicately rosy, and her hair is always styled impeccably. She seems to know exactly who she is and what she wants, as if everything is under her control.
She exudes a very cool girl aura, but combines it with an elegance and chic that the "cool girl" usually does not possess.
After discovering a little more about the origin of this trend, it's time to decipher the essence of the "clean girl" from head to toe.
What is her beauty routine?
The "Clean Girl"'s flawless skin is not the result of makeup alone, but of a well-ordered beauty and skincare routine (usually combined with a healthy diet).
Think smooth, glowing skin with very little to no blemishes.
To achieve that flawless skin, she learned everything there is to know about the active ingredients in her cosmetics and the art of layering. She knows her skin perfectly and does not play with it. Once she finds what works for her skin, she sticks to her routine.
She never sleeps without removing her makeup, because she knows that would be a huge faux pas! If she sees a pimple, she knows to use salicylic acid. If she feels her skin feels tight from dehydration, hyaluronic acid is her best friend for restoring moisture. And, of course, she never skimps on the application of her sunscreen!
Sounds a little too complicated, all that?
Do not panic ! You can start by setting up a very simple basic routine, and once you get used to it, you can add to it little by little. If you need a little help figuring out where to start, here are our recommendations:
- After the facial cleansing step, apply the Creamy Cactéa Mask . Thanks to the antioxidants and vegetable omega 3, 6 and 9 it contains, this smoothing and revitalizing mask will give your skin more radiance and softness (The little extra: this mask is non-comedogenic, so there is no risk of seeing a button popping out of nowhere!).
- Follow the mask with Cactéa Velvety Cream to help fight against fatigue and restore youthful plumpness to your skin. With its oat polyoses to soothe the skin and hyaluronic acid to hydrate it, as well as prickly pear oil to seal it all, this product will quickly become the key element of your vanity #cleangirl .
What is her body routine?
Just like for her face, the "Clean Girl" puts the package on body care focused on hydration and radiance!
To do this, our first tip is to immediately apply, as soon as you get out of the shower, a moisturizing lotion to prevent the water drops from evaporating. After that, adorn yourself with a body oil that will illuminate your skin with a thousand lights.
To get that body glow, we suggest you:
- Wrap yourself in the delicious caress of our Roses Velours moisturizing body milk. Its light formula penetrates quickly into the skin, leaving it soft and subtly scented with scents of roses.
- Finish your routine with a few sprays of our L'Or & l'Argan sublimating body oil. With its fine particles of gold dust mixed with the moisturizing action of argan oil, this little gem gives the skin the subtle shimmer that the "Clean Girl" is looking for.
Manicure side
The "Clean Girl" prefers her nails short and sober. She can indulge in nail art, but only in small touches. Ideally, it is better to avoid long nails (shaped "coffin" or "stiletto") and flashy colors. If you want to imitate this look, you can opt for nudes, mostly, and a little bit of color if you wish (we think of the nail artist Betina Goldstein for example).
For a no-fuss option, one manicure style that has recently gone on-trend – once again – thanks to Clean Girl Supreme Hailey Bieber, is the “glazed donut” manicure. It's a simple mix of milky white nail polish, a bit of chrome powder and a clear top coat to finish. There you have it, naturally chic nails!

Make-up side
This girl swears by natural or “no make-up” makeup. And then, anyway, you've already done most of the heavy lifting by following your brand new super skincare routine.
A tinted moisturizer or BB cream, a light blush and a touch of mascara, a tinted lip balm for MLBB lips (My Lips But Better* – Mes Lèvres En Mieux) are the points where the stock. Plus, well-shaped, lifted brows with a bit of gel, plus small amounts of concealer, and you've got everything you need to go out for your morning coffee.
However, if you want to follow the latest wave of minimalist makeup trends, we suggest you try “transparent eyeliner” or the very easy “gym lips”!

Perfume side
When you think of the "Clean Girl", what scent do you associate with it?
The smell of clean laundry and freshly laundered sheets? Roses and cotton candy? Or a mixture of both?
Indeed, embodying the “Clean Girl” also means smelling like her: fresh and natural, as if you had just gotten out of the shower. For once, it is best to leave strong and musky scents aside.
Nonetheless, the goal is still to turn heads when you walk past someone, and leave a lasting impression.
Wondering how to achieve this effect?
- We already have the solution with Jardin Mille Roses , our scented body water. This subtle yet addictive mist will leave a light veil of rosy scent on your skin.
Spritz on a little after showering and before getting dressed, to better encapsulate the fragrance, and reuse it as you please without ever feeling overly scented.
Believe our experience, this fresh water will earn you many compliments!
For clothes and jewelry
At first glance, when looking for "Clean Girl" outfits, you will find practically only neutral tones on neutral tones...
In fact, if a shades of beige is undoubtedly the easiest palette to use, you can always enrich it with other colors to adapt it to your own style.
No need to spend a fortune online or in store to get a new wardrobe. Most of the clothes you need are probably already in your closet!
Start by getting out your black, white, brown and khaki pieces. Then, add a few subtle pastels or a splash of color here and there. Everything else relies on the magic of accessories.
Consider mixing feminine and masculine lines, fitted and loose, sporty and dressy.
Feeling daring? Opt for long silver earrings, a choker necklace, colorful sunglasses and chunky military boots.
Are you feeling more in a sporty mood? Take chunky sneakers and gold hoops, and pair them with cut-off denim shorts, plus a mini crossbody bag.
Do you feel resolutely feminine? Step out in a silk bodycon dress and wear a matching oversized linen blazer, gold chain and kitten heels.
For the finishing touch, style your hair into a slicked-back, flawless bun, or a lightly structured hairstyle accented with a cute bobby pin.
Basically, the objective of this trend is mainly to strengthen your inner confidence. So when you step outside, take a deep breath and walk with panache!
